Welcome from Dr. Shannon Gomez

Welcome to Connelly School of the Holy Child!

Holy Child is much more than just a school. It’s a community of young women ready to explore a world of possibilities. The all-female environment provides a compassionate, empowering, and challenging experience that prepares our students for success in college and beyond.

This school, along with an entire network of Holy Child schools from around the world, was founded by Cornelia Connelly – a wife and mother that had a calling from God to join the Catholic Church as a nun. In 1846, she founded the Society of Holy Child Jesus, an innovative religious community with a focus on education. Cornelia’s priority was to impart joy in learning and making school feel like a second home.

In keeping with the philosophy of Cornelia Connelly, Holy Child is small by design. Our student to faculty ratio is 7 to 1. Cornelia believed in the gifts and talents of every young woman and valued each for her individuality and interests, so we make it a priority for classes to be small to allow our teachers to really get to know your daughter.

Our faculty provides a dynamic and individualized approach to education. They take pride in fully engaging students in our innovative learning spaces and 21st century curriculum by presenting information in a way that’s meaningful and applicable in the real world.

In addition to dynamic classroom learning, the school experience should also be about exploring interests like sports, fine arts, clubs, theater, service, and travel. We believe in providing our students opportunities to try new things, develop strengths, and reach one’s full potential.

Finally, Holy Child students are women of faith and action. Our school’s motto is “Actions Not Words” and we stand strong in our faith. We believe that our school community should inspire each student to develop their own spiritual gifts and talents, and learn the value of service and humility. Through our commitment to serve those in need, we build a community of young women who can make a difference in a challenging and ever-changing world. Future generations will look to our students and alumnae as strong, accepting, respectful, committed, and compassionate leaders of faith and action.

I look forward to welcoming you to campus so you can experience the joy and warmth of our community for yourself. Please reach out to us should you have any questions.

God Bless,

Dr. Shannon Gomez
