At Holy Child, we believe that the seeds sewn on the athletic field yield strong, confident young women. Our student athletes learn sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills while participating in the thirteen different sports that we offer. We believe that the valuable lessons learned on athletic field translate into success in every other facet of our students’ lives.
We are proud to compete in the Independent School League (ISL). Teams in this league include Bullis School, Episcopal High School, Flint Hill School, Georgetown Day School, Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, Holton-Arms School, Madeira School, Maret School, National Cathedral School, Potomac School, St. Andrews School, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes, Sidwell Friends School and Stone Ridge School. Many of our student-athletes have received All-ISL and All-Met honors for their efforts. This past year seven of our senior student athletes committed to playing their respective sport at the collegiate level.
More than 65% of our student body participates in athletics, and many of those students are multi-sports athletes. The qualified coaching staff at Holy Child consists of both teaching and non-teaching staff who have a passion for athletics and heart for the Holy Child community.
The goal of the Holy Child Athletic Department is to maintain fully competitive sports programs that encourage teamwork, commitment, self-discipline, perseverance, leadership and the ability to win with class. We are excited for the 2020-2021 school year and look forward to sharing in victory with our student athletes.
