More than meets the eye.
Visual art students are encouraged to develop existing skills, knowledge and understanding to engage with deeper personal responses through their artwork from an emphasis on the inner artist voice through a variety of projects and mediums as classes progress.
We explore how artists and designers engage in the world around them through design-based projects and visits to the DC galleries, studying contextually, in situ.
With focused concentration and one-on-one work with their teacher, peer and self-evaluation techniques, problem solving and critical thinking skills, students are able to improve their confidence, expectations and abilities. This helps them become the young women with a better appreciation for art and a better understanding of the world.
