Theatre

Our upper school theatre program offers students a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of theatrical arts, fostering creativity, collaboration, and confidence both on stage and behind the scenes. Our inclusive program welcomes students of all experience levels, whether stepping into the spotlight for the first time or working on a production with years of experience, all are welcome in the transformative work of these shared theatre experiences.

Drama Club

Drama club meet weekly and serves as the heart of our theatre community. Members explore acting techniques through improvisation games, scene work, and character development exercises. The club provides a supportive environment where students build friendships, develop performance skills, and gain confidence in creative expression. Throughout the year, Drama Club members have opportunities to showcase their talents in informal performances and community events. Social activities include musical movie nights, field trips to local theatres, and more.

Technical Theatre Crew

Our tech crew is essential to bringing every production to life. Students can specialize in lighting design, sound engineering, set construction, costume design, makeup artistry, or stage management. Tech crew members develop valuable hands-on skills while learning to operate professional-grade equipment. Many of our tech alumni have gone on to pursue careers in theatre, film, and related technical fields. The crew works collaboratively on all productions, gaining real-world experience in project management and problem-solving.

One Act Play

Each spring, our program produces a One Act Play, where students perform a condensed theatrical piece that showcases their collective talents. This intensive experience challenges students to work within tight constraints while delivering powerful performances. Cast and crew members develop exceptional teamwork skills as they prepare for this performance.  Past productions have included This is Not Detention, The Layover, Clue: High School Edition, 12 Angry Jurors, and more!

Musical Theatre Productions

The program produces a large scale winter musical with live music at the end of February/early March.  These full-scale productions provide opportunities for students to take on leading and supporting roles while tech crew members design and execute complex technical elements. Students gain experience in auditions, rehearsal processes, and live performance.

Whether your passion lies in performing, creating, or supporting the magic of live theatre, our program offers a place for every student to grow, learn, and shine.

Production Gallery

Holy Child Theatre was one of my favorite parts of high school. It was more than just putting on musicals, it was a community that encouraged me to be confident, take risks, and embrace who I am.  Through every rehearsal and performance, I was surrounded by people who supported and believed in one another.  Theatre taught me that being authentically yourself is one of the most valuable qualities you can have, and it gave me the confidence to carry that lesson into every aspect of my life.  The friendships, memories, and growth I experienced through Holy Child Theatre are something I will always cherish.                     - Giana W. '25
