Head of School Search
As announced, Head of School Dr. Shannon Gomez has decided to seek a new opportunity, and this will be her last school year as Head of School. Our Board of Trustees takes seriously our responsibility to oversee a thoughtful search for our next leader and we have been busy igniting that process.
The Board has formed a Head of School Search Committee, led by Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Jessica Bieligk. The committee represents a thoughtful, diverse, and dedicated group of individuals who bring deep understanding and commitment to Holy Child.

November 18, 2025 | DovetailED Campus Visit
DovetailED will spend time on campus meeting with members of our Board of Trustees, faculty and adminstration, students, and other stakeholders to learn more about Holy Child’s culture and leadership priorities.
Mid-November | Position Statement Release
Following a comprehensive survey and discovery visit, the Search Committee and DovetailED will partner to release a Head of School Opportunity Statement that best reflects the qualities, skillset, and experience desired in Holy Child’s next leader.
November 21 – December 19, 2025 | Candidate Application Process
DovetailED will spend several weeks conducting phone interviews and reviewing resumes and supporting materials to present the Holy Child Search Committee with a group of candidates for consideration. Through this process, the Search Committee will identify a slate of candidates whose qualities and expertise best align with the school’s position statement.
January 2026 | Search Committee Semifinalist Interviews
The Search Committee will conduct semifinalist interviews via Zoom in January 2026, aiming to select a slate of finalists who will visit Holy Child in February 2026. The committee’s objective is to identify 3–4 candidates whose experience, skills, and characteristics not only uphold Holy Child’s unique mission but also ensure the school’s continued success and future sustainability.
February 2026 | Finalist Candidates Visit Campus
Finalist candidates will visit Holy Child in February 2026. Finalist visit dates will be shared with the community in January to provide ample time to plan and prepare. Each candidate’s biography will be posted on this page 24–48 hours before their campus visits and will remain available throughout their time on campus. After each visit, a candidate feedback survey will be distributed to ensure the community has an active voice in the selection process.
How to Apply
Connelly School of the Holy Child seeks a new head of school to begin in the 2026-27 school year and has partnered with DovetailED to lead the process. Preliminary applications are now being accepted, with the full opportunity statement set to be released in mid-November.
