Goal awards have been created to recognize those students who, in their day to day interactions with their teachers and their peers, exemplify the ideals which Holy Child schools hold most dear. These are students who strive to live out the values of Cornelia Connelly every day.
Goal 1: Faith
Students who receive this award dedicate themselves to fostering a faith commitment that engenders a personal response to God in addressing the challenges of the world. The recipients are:

Graduation and Promotion Awards
Graduation awards recognize those students who have carried out the mission and values of our school during their time as a Holy Child student. Students receive these awards as they close one chapter and begin another in their educational journey.
The Public Service Award - presented to a student who displays a deep sense of dedication to public service, takes meaningful personal initiative, and brings an innovative and fresh approach to improving the lives of others.

The Student Government Award - presented to a senior for outstanding participating in all aspects of school life. Recipient is chosen by the members of the Student Government.

The Prize for General Academic Excellence - presented to the graduate who has achieved the highest grade average over four years. Recipient chosen on the basis of GPA.

The Award for Leadership in Christian Social Action - presented for the quality named. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.

The Karen Elizabeth Noonan Award - presented to a senior for outstanding community service. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.

The Cornelia Connelly Award - presented to a graduate who has exhibited Holy Child spirit by participation in school activities and a spirit of service to others and has demonstrated a special appreciation for the Arts.

The Kosch/Craig Award - the highest award given by the athletic department, is named after two women (Mary Kosch and Sr. Connie Craig) who dedicated their lives to Holy Child. This award is given to the sportswoman who is enthusiastic and dedicated to athletics, hardworking, and exhibits leadership and embodies the spirit of Holy Child.

The Alumnae Association Award - presented to the senior who has exemplified generosity of spirit and personal growth together with a genuine concern for others during her years at Holy Child. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.

The Christian Valor Award - presented to a senior who reflects God's Word and Love despite adversity, and who exemplified Christian character despite significant obstacles and has proven the ability to rise above hardship, exhibiting strength and courage.

The Sr. Connie Craig Award - presented to a senior who in her daily life exemplifies the spirit of the Holy Child, simplicity, humility, charity, and joy. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.

The Archbishop's Award for Catholic Citizenship - presented to a senior in recognition of leadership, contribution to the common good, and participating in Church, school and community activities. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.
- Recipient: Keely McGowan '20
The Mary C. Crivella Prize - our most distinguished award which is given to the graduate who has exhibited outstanding character, service, and loyalty to the school over four years. Recipient is chosen by faculty vote.
- Recipient: Tess Williams '20
The Mary Pat Siemien Award - carries a partial tuition remission for the ninth grade year. It is presented in honor of a member of the class of 1977 whose courage, determination, and loyalty continue to set an example for Holy Child students, alumnae, and all those who know her.
- Recipient: Danielle Foster '24
The J. Robert Walsh Award - given in loving memory of Mr. Walsh whose three daughters are alumnae of Connelly School of the Holy Child. The scholarship is awarded to a prospective ninth grader on the basis of a student's contribution to the school community and her strength of character. The Award carries with it a partial tuition remission for the ninth grade year.

The Head of School Award - given to a student who has maintained a strong academic effort throughout her career in middle school. The Award carries it a partial tuition remission for the ninth grade year.

Performing Arts Merit Scholarships
These scholarships recognize applicants with extraordinary talents and passion in the performing arts - music, dance, and theatre. Recipients are selected by faculty committee through submission of video auditions.

All School Closing Awards
All School Closing awards and scholarships are given to those students who have exhibited dedication and perseverance in various subjects and extracurriculars of the school from the previous academic year.
Department Awards honor the individual academic achievements of students within each of our disciplines. These awards recognize students who have consistently achieved excellence in their course work and have shown a demonstration of passion in each area of study over the last four years.

The Bosch & Lomb Medal - awarded to a junior who has completed a science course in the freshman and sophomore year and who is currently enrolled in a junior course; has shown academic excellence in science; has taken rigorous courses; who has scored well on PSAT math, SAT math, and/or ACT science/math. Recipient is selected by the Science and Math departments.

The Connelly Book Award - given to a junior student who not only excels academically but is also an active participant in extracurricular activities and positively contributes to her community. Her strong spirit and unlimited potential demonstrate a positive image of a rising successful young woman. Recipient is chosen by the faculty.

The Harvard Book Prize - awarded to a young woman who exemplifies excellence in scholarship and high character combined with achievement in other fields. Recipient is chosen by the faculty.
- Recipient: Halo Lyman '21
The Holy Child Book Award for Humanities/Social Studies - given to the outstanding junior based on the following criteria: course grades and co-curricular activities in the Humanities and/or Social Sciences; rigor of courses taken in these disciplines; leadership; community service; and PSAT verbal, SAT verbal, and/or ACT English/reading scores. The recipient is chosen by the Social Studies and English departments.
- Recipient: Claire Duffy '21
The Saint Michael's College Book Award for Scholarship and Service - awarded to a young woman who is a member of the National Honor Society and has demonstrated a sustained commitment to community service activities through her high school or organizations within the local community. Preference is given to the student who has taken on leadership roles within her community service endeavors.

The Wellesley College Book Award - given to a junior in the top 10% of the class whose academic record and character are exceptional and who has made significant personal contributions to her school and/or community. The recipient is chosen by faculty vote.

The Smith College Book Award - recognition of an outstanding sophomore or junior who has demonstrated academic achievement and leadership, concern for others, and an insatiable curiousity.
- Recipients: Lola Hill '21 & Maggie Titus '21
The Jan Norton Scholarship - awarded in memory of Jan Norton, Holy Child class of 1965, who died in November of her sophomore year. The scholarship of $750 is awarded to a sophomore for each her junior and senior years at Holy Child. This sophomore must be a good student, active in school affairs, and concerned about others.
