Actions Not Words.

Parents Association

A new tradition that began last year at Holy Child is the Mothers Morning Out which is a special morning for moms and their Holy Child daughters.  Please save the morning of May 4 on your calendar for this special date. Please contact Parents Association President Janelle Lynch for more information.

Please read the weekly emails from your homeroom parent rep.  Please get involved. There’s something for every parent to participate in to make a difference. Set an example for your daughter by participating in the many opportunities that are available.

Review the many opportunities you have to be involved in your daughter’s school

Be involved at Holy Child: as a volunteer, a committee chair, or a behind the scenes helper, something for every interest is offered. Every role, no matter how big or small, ultimately helps to enrich each Holy Child student.

Ongoing opportunities all year

Hot Lunch
Parents assist and serve Hot Lunch Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sign up for once a month, once a week, or as often as you would like to see your daughter and her friends while helping serve hot lunch. Please contact Food Service Director Maureen Koch to discuss a day(s) you are available.

Tiger Shop
Staff the school store and visit with the girls. The Tiger Shop is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily, 11:30 – 1:00 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and on additional days or evenings for special parent events. Volunteer once a month, weekly, or whenever your schedule allows.

Library
General assistance is always needed to shelve books, file, and perform general tasks. Please contact our Librarian, Claire Drummond to let her know of your availability.

Special Mailings
Assist by labeling, stuffing envelopes, or any other tasks that may require extra help from volunteers. Please contact Suzi Montes de Oca if you would like to be contacted over the course of the year when these arise.

Refreshments
There are plenty of opportunities to provide or bake treats for conferences, lunches and other get-togethers throughout the year. Please watch for emails about these various school events.

Annual Events

Annual events are a great way to participate in the Holy Child community. Here are 2016-17 calendar dates.

Mayfield Market • November 19-20
Gala • March 11
Mother's Morning out • May 4

Happenings

Each Wednesday, the Happenings is sent to parents. It’s a way to know the top events, news and other helps along the way. If you’ve missed a newsletter or want to see a quick view of our archives.

Tiger Shop

School supplies, class-specific items, school sports supplies, uniform must-haves (socks, gym uniform, sweatshirts…), spirit items, and a whole array of school novelty items are sold in the Tiger Shop. And, we'll have product online soon.

Hot Lunch

Ask any student about our hot lunch program, and you’ll hear raves. Their parents echo the sentiment, both for the healthy options and ease of ordering. Vignola’s Italian Gourmet continues to provide freshly prepared lunches every day during the school year.

Give Online Today

Consider a gift at the Leadership level of $1,500 and above, and be honored at a dinner in the spring.

There are three areas we're focused on. We invite you to read more about each one and see where you'd like to support Holy Child this year.

Your recurring gift may be changed or canceled at any time by contacting the Development office at (301) 365-0955.

Giving Groups

Please consider joining our Head of School Society with a gift of $1,500 or more. Each year, we observe the generosity of our Head of School, Scholars, Cornelia Connelly and Holy Child Societies’ donors with a celebration in the spring. Please consider joining one of these societies. All gifts will be listed in the Annual Report according to the following gift categories:

Holy Child Society • $25,000+
Cornelia Connelly Society • $10,000-24,999
Scholars’ Society • $5,000-9,999
Head of School Society • $1,500-4,999
Blue and Gold Society • $500-1,499
Patrons’ Society • $100-499
Friends of Holy Child • $1-99

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company (or your spouse’s company) has a matching gift policy, please enter the employer’s name below.

If the company matches, you may be able to access the form directly through the search. Follow the set procedure, and Holy Child will be happy to assist you and answer your questions. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled!

Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
