In 1961, Msgr. Russell Phelan brought the Society of the Holy Child Jesus to Potomac. He had an incredible dream of a new school. There is no greater gift to give future generations than a superb education. Your support through a myriad of activities will help fund the possibilities.
Since Holy Child’s founding, so many families have contributed unselfishly of their time and personal resources toward moving this school forward, always mindful of its present but always planning for its future. As a result, the School’s current students are the beneficiaries of years of efforts and contributions by parents and students over the years. It is now our turn, our time, and our responsibility to this new generation of students to advance Connelly School of the Holy Child to an even higher level of excellence.
Like every private independent school, Holy Child relies significantly on charitable donations each year: (1) to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of an outstanding school education, and (2) to fund all capital renovations and expansions. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Holy Child provides for all donors specific tax benefits for making qualifying restricted and/or unrestricted gifts for essential programs and significant projects benefiting each student at the school.
Unlike public schools, which receive funding from bonds, increased taxes, or federal or state grants, independent schools like Holy Child rely on every parent, all alumnae, parents of alumnae, grandparents, faculty and trustees to contribute at a level commensurate with their financial ability. No gift is too small, nor is any gift too large! Together, the entire school community can provide the financial resources for expanding opportunities and educational facilities for their children, grandchildren, and students. As this generation of Holy Child students and parents is benefiting from the extraordinary support from previous generations, it is now our turn, our time, and our responsibility to continue to develop this extraordinary program and wonderful facility!
