This year, a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department on River Road. Established in 1930, the CJPVFD today, in addition to fire prevention, education, and suppression activities, is also the primary care provider of emergency medical services, river rescue services, and heavy rescue in our region. The unique nature of this geographic area requires many diverse operations, ranging from rescues along the Potomac River and C&O Canal to high-rise fire protection in downtown Bethesda. We applaud and honor our volunteers at CJPVFD.
