Volunteer Opportunities
Holy Child relies on the kindness and generosity of its volunteers in every facet of school life. Becoming involved in our community truly shows your daughter how much you care about her education and offers a wonderful opportunity to meet other Holy Child parents.

Please consider volunteering at any of the numerous events/activities we have throughout the year. It's easy to sign up online; just scroll down for the form.

Also, dads may be interested in joining the newly revived FATHERS CLUB.  Click here for more information and to register online.

But first, read all about the monthly school events; if you'd like to print out a version of the brochure, click here to download the 2011-2012 version--we will be updating this in the next couple of months.

YEAR-LONG EVENTS AND NEEDS

Mission Effectiveness: Help is needed at various times throughout the year during our accreditation process. Talley surveys, input data or participate in a panel discussion.

Annual Fund Campaign: Volunteer opportunities may include leadership positions to recruiting, coordinating and encouraging other parents to volunteer, writing letters and participating in the phone-a-thon.

Room Parents: Be the first to know! Room Parents represent their daughters’ homeroom and communicate via weekly emails to other parents. A Room Parent may be asked to help to volunteer for events and activities and solicit donations for their daughter’s class throughout the year.

Faculty/Staff Appreciation: Our Holy Child teachers are the best! Their countless hours of dedication are deeply appreciated. Show them you care by volunteering to donate refreshments and serve or coordinate goodies for the faculty and staff. Co-chairs are needed this year to coordinate the monthly luncheons by grade with the class captains, and set up and serve lunch.

Hot Lunch: Parents assist and serve Hot Lunch Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Sign up for once a month, once a week or every other week to see your daughter and her friends while helping serve hot lunch. You will be contacted about your availability. You can serve as a substitute as well.

Library: General assistance is always needed to shelve books, file and perform general tasks. This is another chance to be in the building during the day and see your student at work.

Refreshments: Occasionally provide refreshments for various school functions.

Special Mailings: Assist by labeling, stuffing envelopes, or any other tasks that may require extra help from volunteers.

Tiger Shop: Staff the school store and visit with the girls. The Tiger Shop is open from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. daily, and in the evening for special parent events. Volunteer once a month, weekly, or whenever your schedule allows. You will be contacted about your requested availability.

Tiger Club: The Tiger Club is Holy Child’s sports booster club, providing much-needed time, talent and resources to support Holy Child’s teams and Athletic Department. Past donations to the Tiger Club have led to the purchase of uniforms, fitness equipment, an ice machine, scorer’s table and many other necessary items for the Athletic Department. Be a team representative to help create distribution lists and to help coaches communicate important information to parents.

For questions or comments, contact Michele Rathbone, the Director of Special Events and Parent Programs, at 301-365-0955, or mrathbone@holychild.org.  Our volunteer coordinator will lso help you focus your talents on jobs large or small; if you are interested in serving in this role, let Michele know!
